We’ve all heard or been told those horror stories of airbrush tans gone wrong (the streaking, the peeling, the cursed “orange” tint that never seems to fade). Though some brides choose to go natural to avoid any risk of a tanning mishap, not all sunless tanning options lead in disaster– with the right research and professional treatment, an airbrush tan from Intanity could be the perfect sun-kissed finish to your bridal look.
Do: Research professional salons. You found one! Intanity!
Finding the right airbrush tanning artist is super important! We’re so glad you’ve found us here at Intanity. We are the leader in our area in bridal tanning and can reassure you, you’re in the right hands!
Trust your artist when it comes to your color!
I’m here to give you that perfect bridal glow. When it comes to picking the right shade, we might go lighter than you had anticipated, but this will give you the natural glow that perfectly compliments photos. I always say “A bridal tan should enhance your natural beauty not overpower it.”
Schedule an airbrush tan trial session
Book a trial session with Intanity at least one month in advance to allow us to customize the color that best suits you, and to see how your skin reacts to the solution. If you don’t have time for a trial session, we can always test a patch of skin on your stomach or legs if your gown is long.
Don’t Spray over an old airbrush tan.
You shouldn’t have any self-tanner or remnants from an old airbrush tan. This is a huge no-no and sadly, I see it all too often. It’s like if you went and got a manicure and they just painted over your chipped polish. It might look good for a day or so, but when you look up close it’ll look horrible and messy. I’m sure if a nail tech tried to pull that on you, you would be livid! Well, an airbrush tan is no exception, and it would be worse since it’s your whole body.
Exfoliation
It is SUPER important you exfoliate the day before or even a few days before your appointment with Intanity. I recommend you use an exfoliating mitt, these are available for purchase at our salon. Be sure to avoid a scrub that contains oils, unless it’s more than a day before your appointment. The reason for this is that oils tend to leave a film on the skin that can create a barrier and possibly block the airbrush tan absorption in areas where it remains, which will result in a streaky or patchy tan. Exfoliation is key so the skin can be a clean canvas. You’re a beautiful piece of art I’m going to work my magic on! With airbrush tanning, if the solution is applied to uneven skin, the older dead skin cells will come off first and cause a blotchy look and will fade poorly.
No time for a trial spray? Don’t be worried!
We get it! Planning a wedding can be stressful, and that special day can creep up on you! We can assure you that we got you covered at Intanity! Whether it’s for a trial tan or the real deal you will come out of our salon looking like the glowing bride you are.
Hopefully, these tips will help you achieve the perfect glow on your wedding day! I can’t wait to see you soon at your next appointment. Click here to book your wedding trial glow!
